Andra's Fancy
In all areas of my life, color and textures have always inspired me. This applies to making jewelry, as well. Often, themes emerge and I explore these further. Simply put, I have fun making jewelry, find it very relaxing, and enjoy sharing with others.

Michael Barteau
My work is about using common and sometimes found items to recreate traditional jewelry patterns. The pieces are an exercise in using modular industrial parts to create bold, insightful, an elegant design. Each piece is unique yet shares common elements with the entire body of work.

Butter is Heather Visnesky. In addition to knitting while her husband does all the housework, she is one of the organizers of the Rock n Roll Craft Show.

Chi Cards are created by Chinyere E. Oteh. An extremely choosy greeting card consumer, she was moved to start designing her own a few years ago. Her tools are simply ink, paper and ideas.

I am a collector of CRAP, STUFF, and CUT OUTS (I love it all). Luckily, every once in a while all that comes in handy, especially when I’m in a crafty mood! I make things that I love so much that they’re sometimes hard to part with. I watch the ground when I walk, always in search for a treasure many wouldn’t notice. My creations are always young and fun like a beach party with “the King”.

Idora is the crafty handmade stuff from artist and printmaker Jessi Kelley. As an organizer of RRCS, I hustled like crazy to get this stuff done and hope that you will enjoy it. It was really fun to do and a great break from attempting to make "for serious" art.

The first purse I made was made entirely of duct tape. I enjoy making purses out of strange materials, especially previously used materials: cereal boxes, bridesmaid dresses, school uniforms, my pants, whatever. I do make some bags that just look nice, but I prefer a challenge. Send me your old stuff, let me see what I can do with it.

Matt Kindt
Matt Kindt is the artist of the critically acclaimed Pistolwhip series of graphic novels.His latest book, "2 Sisters" was recently nominated foe an Eisner Award and he is currently working on a weekly on-line comic strip series "Super Spy". kling is a line of handbags created for women who like to brighten up their wardrobe and own one-of-a-kind items. Each kling bag is unique and hand made with various adhesive and metal materials. kling is currently for sale at the Contemporary Art Museum in Saint Louis. Molly Koebbe
Molly Koebbe rescues scraps of glass from larger window projects and recycles them into wearable windows in her stained glass jewelry. All jewelry is made using the copper foil technique, lead-free solder and sterling silver wire.

Marie Oberkirsch
Original prints on canvas, cotton and linen, sewn by the artist into fashion and home accessories. All pieces are screen printed using colorfast dyes and inks. Paper stencils are cut, one for each color. Prints overlap to create rich transparent hues. Inks are applied after the fabrics are washed and dried. Layers of resists and prints make each piece unique.

Sharon Derry of Papeterie Fancy Writing Papers & Cards makes note cards, journals and other paper goods, often incorporating vintage ephemera: hand-written sheet music, foreign postage, 1930s rent rolls, German homework from the 1890s, union dues stamps, Russian postcards, Romanian train tickets...if it's paper and it's interesting, she'll use it.

PindyLindy is a newly conceived, freshly realized mini-collective specializing in handmade accessories. PindyLindy incorporates vintage and reclaimed buttons, buckles and notions in designs which range from beaded bracelets and embellished knit cuffs (for guys and gals) to delicate hair decorations and handmade books.



Peter Pranschke
Peter Pranschke graduated from UMSL with a degree in Painting in 2003. Since then his work has shifted and become autobiographical using cartoon images to tell small stories. While most of his work is done to be put in a frame and hung on the wall, the work for the Rock and Roll Craft Show is done in a comic book format.



Sew Juicy
Autumn Wiggins specializes in making purses, wallets, messenger bags and the like using her hybrid designs that combine fabric and recycled materials such as juice pouches and tea boxes. Other creations include felt appliqué items and macramé jewelry.



Den Smith
My work consists of construction as a combination of ideas as well as mediums. The process of developing and foraging for elements in the construction of the works is an intricate part of the process. There is a storytelling element to my work. I also create boxes as containers. These have a utilitarian function as well as decorative use.



Erica Sparks
Erica Lyn Sparks is a wanna-be crafter who mostly hangs out with crafty people. She attempts to become crafty through osmosis. She also claims to know how to knit, though she has only made long skinny scarves (none of which are in this show) and doesn't know how to purl. It's a wonder she made it into this thing.



Squaresville
Squaresville was born 4 years ago in my cozy shotgun apartment. I had been quilting for a few years, but wanted a less time-consuming project with the same aesthetic and beauty of quilts. I teach 7th grade, so my summers are free for sewing, drinking iced tea, and making commissioned quilts.



Super Cute
Super Cute Crafts is Krista Durlas’s crafty diversion turned enterprise. More crafty than genuinely creative, I’m up for it all: quilting, sewing, stitching, batiking, beading, and my new obscession - screen printing. Tell me what you want, and I'll make it. Creating this showcase of local talent was a labor of love.
